Dr. Widder just published a major
contribution on Daniel in the Zondervan Exegetical Commentary on the Old
Testament: Daniel–get a copy. Dr. Widder has a Ph. D. from the University of
the Free State (South Africa) in Near Eastern Studies, a MA from the University
of Wisconsin at Madison and an M.Div. from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary.
She has taught at Northwestern, North Central, and Bethel in the Minneapolis
area. She has published “To Teach in Ancient Israel” in the BZAW
series. Her most recent book on Daniel was published by Zondervan in the Story
of God Bible Commentary Series (2016). More recently, Zondervan has published
her 600+ page book Daniel: A Discourse Analysis of the Hebrew Bible (2023),
which would be a great purchase if you desire to study Daniel in depth.

Dr. Gordon Hugenberger, a graduate of Harvard College (AB, Applied Physics), Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (MDiv), and The Oxford Centre for Postgraduate Study and The College of St. Paul and St. Mary (PhD), has been teaching at GCTS on the Old Testament, Hebrew, and related languages, since 1974. He has been in pastoral ministry for over 23 years as the Senior Minister at the Orthodox Congregational Church in Lanesville, Gloucester, MA and 20 years at the historic Park Street Church, Boston, MA. He has recently written an Akkadian textbook and is currently working on a commentary on Judges for InterVarsity Press.

D. from Dallas Theological Seminary and brings outstanding ministry experience to the classroom, having served 22 years in youth, associate, interim and senior pastor positions. He taught for 32 years at Biola University.
