Dr. Steven D. Mathewson

Dr. Steven D. Mathewson (Ph. D. Stellenbosch University, D. Min. Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary). Steve has served as a lead pastor in Montana and in Illinois (the north suburbs of Chicago) for forty years. He has also served as an adjunct professor of preaching at several seminaries (TEDS, Moody, Western, Denver) and was Director of the Doctor of Ministry Program at Western Seminary for six years.  He is the author of Risen: 50 Reasons Why the Resurrection Changed Everything (Baker, 2013), Preaching the Four Gospels with Confidence (Hendrickson, 2022), Preaching the Hard Words of Jesus (Hendrickson, 2022), The Art of Preaching Old Testament Poetry (Baker Academic, 2024), Joshua and Judges in the People’s Commentary Series (2003), and The Art of Preaching Old Testament Narrative (2nd edition, Baker Academic, 2021).
