David A. deSilva (Ph.D., Emory University) is Trustees’
Distinguished Professor of New Testament and Greek at Ashland Theological
Seminary. He has written more than twenty-five books, including Introducing the
Apocrypha: Context, Message, and Significance; An Introduction to the New
Testament: Contexts, Methods & Ministry Formation; Honor, Patronage,
Kinship & Purity: Unlocking New Testament Culture; and Day of Atonement: A
Novel of the Maccabean Revolt.
