DASV: John 15
1 "I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.
2 Every branch in me that bears not fruit, he cuts off; and every
branch that bears fruit, he prunes, so that it will bear more
fruit.
3 Already you are clean because of the word I have spoken to you.
4 Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit
by itself, except it remain in the vine; neither can you, unless
you remain in me.
5 I am the vine, you are the branches. The one who remains in me,
and I in him, bears much fruit; for apart from me you can do nothing.
6 If a man does not remain in me, he is thrown away like a branch,
and withers. They gather them up, and throw them into the fire and
are burned up.
7 If you remain in me, and my words remain in you, ask whatever you
want, and it will be done for you.
8 By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and become
my disciples.
9 As the Father has loved me, I also have loved you; remain in my love.
10 If you obey my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as
I have obeyed my Father's commandments and remain in his love.
11 I have told you these things so that my joy may be in you, and
that your joy may be complete.
12 This is my commandment: love one another, just as I have loved
you.
13 No one has greater love than this, that a man lay down his life for
his friends.
14 You are my friends if you do what I command you.
15 No longer do I call you servants; for the servant does not know
what his master does. But I have called you friends, for everything
that I have heard from my Father, I have made known to you.
16 You did not choose me, but I chose you. I appointed you to go
and bear fruit. Your fruit will last because whatever you will
ask from the Father in my name, he will give it to you.
17 These things I command you, so that you will love one another.
18 If the world hates you, you know that it hated me before it
hated you.
19 If you belonged to the world, the world would love you as its
own; but because you do not belong to the world, but I chose you
out of the world, therefore the world hates you.
20 Remember the word that I told you, 'A servant is not greater
than his master.' If they persecuted me, they will persecute you too.
If they have obeyed my word, they will obey yours too.
21 But they will do all these things to you for my name's sake,
because they do not know the one who sent me.
22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin;
but now they have no excuse for their sin.
23 Whoever hates me, also hates my Father.
24 If I had not done among them the works which no one else did,
they would not have sin. But now they have both seen and hated
both me and my Father.
25 But this happened to fulfill the word that is written in their
law, 'They hated me without a cause.'
26 But when the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the
Father, the Spirit of truth, who comes from the Father, he will
testify about me.
27 You also will testify, because you have been with me from the
beginning."
