          DASV: Psalm 53

For the music director, according to Mahalath, a Maskil of David

1 The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God."
     They are corrupt;
           they do detestable deeds;
                there is no one who does good.

2 The LORD looks down from heaven on the human race
     to see if there is anyone who is wise,
           who seeks after God.
3 They all have turned away;
     they all have become corrupt;
           there is no one who does good, not even one.

4 Do the evildoers really not know?
     They eat up my people as they eat bread,
           and do not call on God.
5 There they are totally terrified, where there was no terror;
     for God will scatter the bones of the one who camps against you.
      You will put them to shame,
     because God has rejected them.

7 O that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion!
     When God brings back the fortunes of his people,
     then Jacob will rejoice,
           and Israel will be glad.
