          DASV: Psalm 52

For the music director, a Maskil of David, when Doeg the
Edomite went to Saul and told him, "David has come to the
house of Ahimelech"

1 Why do you boast in trouble, O mighty one?
      The loyal love of God lasts all day long.
2 Your tongue plots destruction,
      like a sharp razor, it executes deception.
3 You love evil more than good,
      lying rather than speaking what is right. Selah
4 You love all words that devour,
      by a deceitful tongue.

5 God will tear you down forever;
     he will snatch and tear you away from your tent;
           he will uproot you out of the land of the living. Selah
6 The righteous will see it, and fear,
     and will laugh at him, saying,
7 "Look, here is the person who would not make God his refuge,
     but trusted in the abundance of his riches,
           and strengthened himself by destroying."

8 But as for me, I am like a flourishing olive tree in the house of God;
     I trust in the loyal love of God forever and ever.
9 I will give thanks to you forever, for what you have done;
     I will hope in your name,
           for you are good, in the presence of your faithful ones.
