          DASV: Hebrews 1

1 Long ago God spoke at many times and in various ways to our
forefathers by the prophets.
2 In these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he
appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the
world.
3 He is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation
of his essence, and he sustains everything by his powerful word.
When he had made purification for sins, he sat down at the
right hand of the Majesty on high,
4 having become as much better than the angels as the name
that he inherited is more excellent than theirs.
5 For to which of the angels did God ever say,
     "You are my Son,
           today I have I have fathered you"?
and again,
     "I will be his Father,
           and he will be my Son"?
6 And again, when he brought his firstborn into the world,
he said,
      "Let all the angels of God worship him."
7 And regarding the angels he says,
     "Who makes his angels spirits,
           and his servants a flame of fire."
8 But about the Son he says,
     "Your throne, O God, is forever and ever;
           and the scepter of justice is the scepter of your kingdom.
9 You have loved righteousness,
           and hated lawlessness;
     therefore God, your God, has anointed you
           over your companions with the oil of gladness."
10 And,
     "You, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth,
           and the heavens are the works of your hands.
11 They will perish, but you remain,
           they will all get old like a garment;
12 like a cloak you will roll them up,
           like a garment they will be changed.
     But you are the same,
           and your years will not end."
13 But about which of the angels did God ever say,
     "Sit at my right hand,
           until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet"?
14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out
to serve in behalf of those who will inherit salvation?
