          DASV: 1 Corinthians 2

1 When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with brilliant
oratory or esoteric wisdom, when proclaiming to you the mystery
of God.
2 For I determined not to know anything among you, except
Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
3 I was with you in weakness and in fear, and in much trembling.
4 My speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of
wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,
5 so that your faith should not be based on human wisdom but in
the power of God.
6 We speak wisdom among those who are mature, but not a wisdom
of this age, or of the rulers of this age, who are amounting
to nothing.
7 But we speak God's wisdom in a secret mystery, that God
predetermined before the ages for our glory.
8 None of the rulers of this age understood it, for had they known,
they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
9 But, as it is written,
     "What no eye has seen,
           and no ear heard,
     and no mind has imagined,
what God has prepared for those who love him."
10 But God has revealed them to us through the Spirit. For the
Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.
11 For what human being knows a person's thoughts, except the spirit
of the person which is in him? So too, no one knows the thoughts
of God except the Spirit of God.
12 Now we did not receive the spirit of the world, but the Spirit
that is from God; so that we may know the gifts God has freely
given us.
13 And we speak about these things, not in words taught by human
wisdom, but those which the Spirit teaches; explaining spiritual
matters to those who are spiritual.
14 Now the natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit
of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them,
because they are discerned spiritually.
15 But the one who is spiritual discerns all things, yet he himself
is judged by no one.
16 "For who has known the mind of the Lord,
      that he should instruct him?"
But we have the mind of Christ.
