          DASV: Psalm 32

Of David, a Maskil

1 Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven,
     whose sin is covered.
2 Blessed is the one to whom the LORD does not impute guilt,
     and in whose spirit there is no deceit.

3 When I kept silent, my bones wasted away
     through my groaning all day long.
4 For day and night your hand was heavy upon me;
     my strength was dried up as by the parching heat of summer. Selah
5 Then I acknowledged my sin to you,
     and did not try to hide my guilt.
           I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the LORD;"
     and you forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah

6 Therefore let everyone who is godly pray to you
          in a time when you may be found.
      Surely when the flood waters rise,
          it will not reach him.
7 You are my hiding place;
     you will protect me from trouble;
           you will surround me with shouts of deliverance. Selah
8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
     I will advise you with my eye upon you.
9 Do not be like a horse or mule,
     which have no understanding,
      which must be controlled by a bit and bridle,
     otherwise they will not come near you.

10 Many sorrows come on the wicked,
     but one who trusts in the LORD,
           loyal love surrounds him.
11 Be happy in the LORD,
     and rejoice, you righteous;
           shout for joy, all you who are upright in heart.
