          DASV: Psalm 30

A psalm. A song for the dedication of the temple. Of David.

1 I will exalt you, O LORD; for you have lifted me up,
and have not let my foes gloat over me.
2 O LORD my God, I cried out to you,
     and you healed me.
3 O LORD, you brought up my soul from Sheol;
you rescued my life from descending into the pit.

4 Sing praise to the LORD, his faithful ones,
and give thanks to his holy name.
5 For his anger lasts just a moment,
but his favor lasts a lifetime.
Weeping may persist through the night,
but joy comes in the morning.

6 As for me, I said in my prosperity,
     "I will never be moved."
7 LORD, by your favor you made my mountain stand firm,
then you hid your face and I was terrified.
8 I cried to you, O LORD,
and to the LORD I pleaded for mercy.
9 "What benefit is there in my death,
in my going down to the pit?
           Will the dust praise you?
     Will it declare your faithfulness?
10 Hear, O LORD, and have mercy on me,
     O LORD, be my helper."

11 You turned my mourning into dancing.
     You took off my sackcloth,
           and clothed me with gladness,
12 so that my glory may praise you, and not be silent.
O LORD my God, I will give thanks to you forever.
