          DASV: Psalm 28

Of David

1 Unto you, O LORD, will I call;
     my rock, do not refuse to listen to me;
           for if you ignore me,
     I will become like those who go down into the pit.
2 Hear the voice of my plea for mercy when I cry to you,
     when I lift up my hands toward your holy sanctuary.

3 Do not drag me away with the wicked,
     and with the evildoers;
      who speak peace with their neighbors,
     while plotting harm in their hearts.
4 Repay them according to their deeds,
     according to their evil actions;
           repay them according to the work of their hands;
     give them back what they deserve.
5 Because they have no respect for the works of the LORD,
     or the actions of his hands,
           he will break them down and never rebuild them.

6 Blessed be the LORD,
     because he has heard the voice of my pleas for mercy.
7 The LORD is my strength and my shield;
     in him my heart trusts, and I am helped.
           Therefore my heart leaps for joy;
     and I will praise him with my song.
8 The LORD is his strength,
     and he is a saving refuge for his anointed one.
9 Save your people, and bless your inheritance;
     be their shepherd, and carry them forever.
